Barry Adamson
Originally planned as a single performance, Barry Adamson’s February 7 show at the Piraeus Club Academy quickly sold out, prompting a second date on February 8. The Manchester-born polymath, whose fingerprints are all over the past four decades of avant-garde music—from Magazine to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds—arrives fresh from the release of his critically acclaimed Cut to Black.
Adamson's sonic palette, seamlessly blending atmospheric film scores (he's composed for Lynch and Stone, among others) with acid jazz and art-rock, first found expression in the Mercury Prize-nominated Soul Prison and has only grown more sophisticated since. These two nights offer a rare chance to witness this renaissance man—photographer, filmmaker, memoirist, and Olivier Award-winning composer—in an intimate setting that perfectly complements his roots and artistry.
