We'll Always Have Athens: A New Travel Podcast Series from This is Athens
The Athens Development and Destination Management Agency (ADDMA) has launched a new travel podcast series featuring internationally celebrated story-tellers.
The first 15-minute episode features Stephen Fry, the British actor and writer who recounts his vivid encounters with ancient mythology while visiting Athens. His dazzling imagination and stunning voice offers a whimsical escape and enduring lessons for all ages.
The six-episode series titled “We’ll Always Have Athens” is presented in English by This is Athens, the Official Visitors’ Guide to the City of Athens. The project reflects ADDMA’s strategy to keep Athens front of mind for visitors until international tourism may safely resume.

The series helps listeners imagine a future journey to Athens through stories about Athenian culture, history, food, fascinating people and unique places. Our notable cast include Victoria Hislop, Robert McCabe, Nikos Vatopoulos, and more. Each has graciously agreed to participate in the series from a distance by recording their stories at home.
The featured stories and guests have been selected to entertain listeners from around the world while they stay home and stay safe during the global response to Covid-19. Each episode has also been designed to be “evergreen,” offering inspiration to listeners throughout the year as part of our work to make Athens a sustainable, all-season tourism destination.
New episodes will be released every two weeks and will soon be available on all major podcast platforms (Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts or wherever you listen to podcasts).
This project is co-funded by Greece and the European Union. The series is developed and produced by The Greek Podcast Project.
