Music at the SNFCC Christmas World 2024

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas—and sounding like it, too! The annual holiday concert of the intercultural symphonic orchestra and choir of El Sistema Greece will fill Stavros Niarchos Hall with seasonal magic on December 16th. Over 100 talented young musicians, aged 8 to 26, from 30 countries, will unite their voices and instruments to perform beloved tracks from musicals, iconic film scores, and holiday classics.

The Under Pressure Music Sessions, part of this year’s Christmas World are inspired by the glowing, pulsating Pressure light installation by Hans E. Madsen and Frederik D. Hougs at the Dome. Starting December 14th, the indie vibes kick off with Bipolia and Tsolimon, two rising stars on the Greek scene. On December 20th, Lou and the electrifying duo Agatha & Molyneaux will take you on a ride through electronic soundscapes. The finale on December 26th features Porschelane and Half Quickie & Kaist, bringing an explosive blend of rap and hyperpop. Also inspired by the Dreamy Dreams theme of the Light Installations Festival, a Christmas Silent Disco is coming at the Dome. Tune in with wireless headphones to two live DJs spinning everything from funky beats to festive jams and dance under the glow of Pressure.

On December 23rd, the Greek Radio Symphony Orchestra teams up with the SNFCC for a symphonic celebration featuring Saint-Saëns’ The Carnival of the Animals, Papageorgiou’s dynamic Triptych for Two Pianos, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Christmas Eve.

The Storyville Ragtimers bring the vibrant spirit of New Orleans to Athens with a live tribute to Louis Armstrong, the trumpet legend, wrapping up this Christmas season at the Palio Faliro cultural centre.
