Sting at the Odeon
It was one of the great concert events of late summer 2018. Iconic Sting on our epic Odeon of Herodes Atticus stage. The heavens opened for awhile; the audience got drenched, but the show went on—and it was a cracker. Clearly, the former The Police frontman and writer-composer-activist has fond memories too. He’s headed back to Athens to celebrate his 70th birthday with an encore performance (two, actually) beneath the ancient Acropolis.
This time round, the versatile artist—who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003—will have his muso son Joe Sumner by his side.
Sting’s latest European whip-round hangs off his most recent album, My Songs, which finds the British pop legend reinventing famous tunes from across his four decade career, both as a solo artist and member of The Police, from Roxanne to Fields of Gold.
If you want to get ahead of the pack, Sting Fan Club members will have the chance to purchase a ticket before the general pre-sale starts, from Wednesday, July 21 at 12pm until Thursday, July 22 at 5pm, at www.sting.com. For the rest of you, general pre-sale starts on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 12pm here.
