Gabriella Simossi - In white
Throw a stone around Kolonaki and you’ll probably hit a gallery wall (please, don’t go around throwing stones in Kolonaki.) Sculpture focused P Gallery, just a stone’s throw away (we just had to) from the Benaki Museum, is having an alabaster summer. Kicking off mid June and running till late July, Gabriella Simossi’s In White will be on display at the modernist art space. The all-white exhibition of the famous Greek sculptor comments on the lack of perfection that governs human nature - feelings of incompleteness, alienation and lack of communication - and invites the audience into her surrealistic, poetic and humorous approach to the human form.
Fun fact: this is not the only all-white exhibition inspired by ancient Greek sculpture that’s taking place in Athens. India Mahdavi is also showing off her pearly whites at the Carwan gallery in Piraeus.
